Data Transformations – Custom Hierarchies, Variables in Snowflake with APOS Live Data Gateway

SAP Analytics Cloud has native support for hierarchies, variables, and geospatial data for SAP data assets. APOS Live Data Gateway enables data transformation to create the same capabilities for Snowflake Data Cloud. Hierarchies facilitate drill-down capabilities on data within Snowflake, which is critical for Analytics. APOS Live Data Gateway’s Data Preparation Layer enables the definition of hierarchies, variables and geospatial data. Users can define hierarchies, such as date dimension hierarchies, which allow consistent drill-down across the data model, or custom hierarchies to drill down on any type of data, such as sales or customer data. They can define variables on data models, which allow users to make selections from variable prompts to filter reports for their own purposes. Enabling geospatial data lets SAC users perform geographic visualizations on Snowflake data.
