Performance when Connecting Snowflake to SAP Analytics Cloud with APOS Live Data Gateway

APOS Live Data Gateway enables high-performance live data connectivity between Snowflake Data Cloud and SAP Analytics Cloud. One key to performance is that data is read where it resides and is not moved unnecessarily. Data is not cached or stored within the APOS Live Data Gateway platform. A live connection enables queries that return only the data required to populate the SAP Analytics Cloud stories. When an SAP Analytics Cloud user adds measures or dimensions to their story, fresh queries and aggregations are sent back to Snowflake for processing and execution, and results are streamed to the user’s browser. In recent testing, APOS Live Data Gateway returned data from a 10.5 TB Snowflake Data Cloud deployment in under 2 seconds. David Richert notes that such performance is essential for Machine Learning and Analytics, and Snowflake users are appreciating the self-service and performance that APOS Live Data Gateway provides, which just wasn’t available before.
