Biotech - A Europe-based provider of life science research and diagnostics solutions to allow scientists to explore and innovate at molecular, cellular and microscopic levels. The company employs close to 8,000 personnel in nearly 100 locations on all continents, and one of the world's leading analytical instrumentation providers.

The company uses SAP BW for the bulk of its information management and a live connection to SAP Analytics Cloud for analytics. However, as with the majority of organizations, they have multiple important data assets, including non-SAP data assets. They also need to establish a connection to an Azure SQL database to report on customer data retained there. This Azure SQL data is an essential part of their customer data management effort, and houses customer data critical to a core team of users. The Services team, consisting of managers and engineers needs to filter and analyze current data for this customer reporting.

Problem: SAP Analytics Cloud does not support live connectivity to Microsoft Azure.

Without live connectivity between SAP Analytics Cloud and Microsoft Azure, the Services team would be greatly hindered in their customer data management efforts, potentially resulting in missed service level targets and customer dissatisfaction
