New SAP Analytics Business Intelligence Statement of Direction

The recently released (May 2024), updated SAP Analytics Business Intelligence Statement of Direction (SOD) gave SAP BusinessObjects enthusiasts much to cheer about, starting with an updated roadmap that shows support for the venerated BI platform continuing to the edge of the page and beyond:

Noticeable on the roadmap:

• There will be an SP05 for BI 4.3
• BI 2025 will align with the SAP standard maintenance strategy, meaning they will switch from yearly support packages to minor releases every two years, with mainstream support for three years.
• There is a new category of support called “Customer Specific Maintenance,” which will follow Mainstream Support.
• There will be a BI 2027, and a dotted line strongly suggests a BI 2029.
