Government - A G7 federal government agency organizing the funding for scientific and technological research, supporting discovery and innovation, and working with universities, colleges, businesses and not-for-profit organizations to remove barriers and develop opportunities.

Landscape & Core Challenge

This agency uses SAP BusinessObjects to manage reporting on grant processes, in which timeliness and accuracy are critical. In preparation for their SAP BusinessObjects future in BI 4.3 and BI 2025, this agency needed to find a way to convert their UNV universes to UNX, repoint and validate thousands of reports with limited human resources.

Problem: Limited resources would be heavily taxed by manual conversion and repointing processes, and these processes would be prone to human error.

Without a means of automating these processes, future SAP BusinessObjects upgrades would be in jeopardy.

• Live connectivity between SAP Analytics Cloud and Microsoft Azure SQL
• Automated validation of repointed report accuracy
• Ease of use for users with limited technical experience

Barriers

• Manual Web Intelligence report upgrades are time- and resource-intensive
• Manual repointing and testing are prone to human error
• SAP conversion resources do not enable bulk upgrades
